Colossians 1:28-29 LSB

Him we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. 29 For this purpose I also labor, striving according to His working, which He works in me in power.

Colossians 1:9-10 LSB

9 For this reason also, since the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the full knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please [Him] in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and multiplying in the full knowledge of God;

Ephesians 4:11-13 LSB

11 And He Himself gave some [as] apostles, and some [as] prophets, and some [as] evangelists, and some [as] pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the full knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ,

Ephesians 4:14-15 LSB

14 so that we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming, 15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all [aspects] into Him who is the head, [that is] Christ,

Ephesians 4:15 LSB

15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all [aspects] into Him who is the head, [that is] Christ,

1 Thessalonians 2:13 LSB

13 And for this reason we also thank God without ceasing that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted [it] not [as] the word of men, but [for] what it really is, the word of God, which also is at work in you who believe.

What Is Revering The Word?

To revere something is to feel deep respect, honor, and devotion toward that which one reveres.

To know and revere the Word of God is life-transforming. At Revering the Word, we encourage people to follow a one-chapter-a-day Bible reading plan and listen to the Revering Word Podcast to help them gain greater understanding.

So, how did Revering the Word come about? My personal devotional method for the past couple of decades has been to study one chapter of the scripture daily, reading for quality rather than quantity. There is a vast difference between studying and reading. I have found a devotional study method of consuming the Bible incredibly beneficial to my faith and devotion to God. One can study the whole Bible every three years with this method of reading one chapter a day. This method has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. In addition, others who have taken this challenge have also testified to the positive change this has made in their faith.

It takes a whole Bible to make a whole Christian.

One of the great tragedies of our day is that many Christians only know cherry-picked verses of the Bible commonly preached on a Sunday morning. How can one get to know the whole Jesus if they don’t know the whole Bible? It is essential to know what is true so that one can also recognize what is false.  Man is being deceived today by the world's twisting of God’s Word. The best way to overcome this immense problem is to learn the whole counsel of God's Word for yourself. The most impactful way to learn the Word is to slow down and study it while learning from someone who has invested significantly in gaining a deeper and proper understanding.

One of the men of God I have learned from is the late great teacher Vernon McGee. Vernon McGee's ministry was to preach through the scriptures in an expository manner. His example inspired me to teach through the scriptures and has helped lead to Revering the Word. He called those who listened part of the Bible bus. You are invited, as Vernon McGee coined, to join us on the Revering the Word Bible Bus.

Revering the Word

Teaching from Pastor Jay Cavaiani with an emphasis on revering the Word of God.

2 Corinthians 4 Suffering in sight of the glory of heaven.
byJay Cavaiani

In this life we can and will face overwhelming suffering. Our Lord Jesus identifies with our suffering as he suffered physically and even suffered the rejection of those he died for. Paul teaches us in this passage that even in our suffering we have an eternal weight of glory in the promise of heaven to all who believe in Him. This podcast is dedicated to Isaiah and his entire family. I received notification of his tragic passing while recording this podcast. Although I could not read the actual text until I was done recording. After reading the text it seemed of God’s Spiritual unction that this passage was being taught. May it be of spiritual eternal comfort to all who listen.

Revering the Word offers all of its teaching free of charge. Although not at this time a 501C3 we would be blessed by your support in helping us get the Word to the world.

Altar'd

Why do you believe what you believe?
If someone were to ask you that question,
could you respond with a compelling answer?

The bible says Jesus died on a cross to forgive men of their sins. Why did he have to die, and why does His death forgive us? How can we know if what the bible says is true?

Altar'd provides inspiring, historic, faith-building evidence, revealing how God fulfilled His own rules and master plan to restore His people to relationship with Him through the sacrifice of His son, Jesus. Many powerul forms of evidence are displayed that will help fan into flame the faith of all who read.

Many people believe faith is some type of mystical thing that one simply believes "because they believe." The truth is that many people we care about need evidence, which can then lead to real, lasting faith. Altar'd provides evicence the reveals God is real, the Bible can be trused, and that He has a plan for our lives.

Jesus offered his all on the cross, and our proper response is to offer our lives as " a living sacrifice" to Him. This is what it means to be Altar'd. Have you Altar'd your life?
